An exhibit featuring the art of Erika Victor
Erika Victor is an oil painter creating work, mostly inspired by the southwest, from her home in Zuni, New Mexico. Her work focuses on both the landscapes and people of the region. Her art style uses exaggerated color and forms to present a dramatic, and often somewhat surreal, look at western America.
Her working process includes sketching, hiking and taking photos, before continuing with finished work in the studio. She also finds inspiration by job shadowing people who work in the west, mostly ranchers and cattle-people.
Erika Victor’s work explores the lonely and quiet areas of America, where the mountains cast long uninterrupted shadows.
