Amber Scally "Lead By Example"

$5,900.00

24” x 36”, Charcoal & Pan Pastel on Panel

Melinda Berg is a resilient and determined woman. She leads by example. On this day she was up early getting her three kids ready for the big branding. She helped load the horses and prep the tack. She made a quick trip back to the barn to get her daughter's boots. While her friends and family rode out into the prairie to gather the cows, Melinda led her daughters through the hills to a safe place where they could help follow the cows and the other riders into the corrals. Being a positive influence doesn’t mean being the fastest or showiest. It means doing the job that needs done for the benefit of those around us. This drawing not only honors Melinda's role but also celebrates the enduring spirit of women who have shaped the history and culture of the American frontier.
