The painting represents some of the many women who work at the V6 Ranch in Parkfield, CA The scene depicted was on weighing day, when then cattle are driven from the range and herded to the weighing station. The cattle are weighed before they are sold. Women at the ranch carry many of the responsibilities including roping, branding, raising and training horses, leading dude ranch experiences, as well as competing in rodeo competitions. Also many of the women run the hotel, prepare meals for guests and staff, maintain equipment, and run the business end of the ranch. V6 ranch has a long legacy representing women in the ranching industry.
