Having owned my own horses in Pennsylvania..after my husband passed away I brought my son to New Mexico and was drawn to Corrales the "Horse Capital of New Mexico". With an agricultural history, trails along the Rio Grande and neighbors with donkeys and horses..I felt at home. Red Horse Riding Co. was nearby. Rachel leads trail rides in the mountains and single handedly cares for her herd of seven well behaved ponies along with her young son. Home schooled and a great rider at eight years old..her son accompanies her on the trail where he might be in the lead or rear depending on the group. I recognized myself in her.
