Teaming up with Sunrise Ranch, It was clear that Adrianne is passionate about her horses. It was equally evident that this ranch is a family affair. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to feature, so I spent the day with Adrianne and her daughter Eva while they worked with their horses & highlanders. By the time the sun was sinking on the horizon I knew what I wanted to paint. Adrianne often trains young foals by taking them through paces alongside their mothers so movements become second nature to them. After working hard, the rider, the mare and foal would take a break. They would pause. Adrienne would relax and encourage her mount. The mare would often nuzzle her foal, seemingly praising them as well. The imagery of the mare leading her foal, and Adrienne guiding their children in the ranch lifestyle was a beautiful, impacting parallel. Ranchers and artists are some of the most hard working people I have ever encountered. It's easy to work around the clock when you are passionate about what you do. The PAUSE is a precious moment where we stop to take a breath and give thanks for all we enjoy.
